I purchased my first pair of Golden Goose sneakers a few months ago (you might remember seeing them in a recent post), and received a number of questions about them since then. So many that I decided it was finally time to do a full write-up! I’ve also broken them in well that I can confidently speak to their craftsmanship, and a bunch of related details about them, which you’ll see me go more into detail about.

How is the fit?
They ran true to size for me — I usually wear a size 6, and I went with a EU 36.
They haven’t stretched at all, so if you’re between sizes, I’d go up
How comfy are they?
Honestly, they feel great, and only took a few hours to break in..
How do they perform over time?
They look worn from the start, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and I’m impressed with the durability. Nothing has torn, and the structure feels strong. Since the aesthetic is distressed, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
Do they feel better than other shoes?
They’re the highest quality sneakers I have. I love my Vejas and Tretorns, but Golden Goose still come out on top. There’s a secret wedge inside that adds support and height — making your legs look longer. Also, they’re crafted individually, so each pair is custom-feeling. And the glitter on mine? Stunning.
Would you recommend them?
Yes! Though I suggest looking for a deal. They cost a lot, so getting them on sale is worth it. I’d pay several hundred for the quality, especially if you find a style that suits you. I went bold with sparkle, but a neutral version would also look great.

Are they comfortable?
They felt good right away. I recommend wearing no-shows, especially since they reduce sweat. They’re made with real Italian leather, so it’s much more pleasant than breaking in plastic-based shoes. Also, they’re already broken-in so your feet just adjust easily.
Do they hold up well?
They look worn from the start, I didn’t worry about getting them dirty. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and they’ve held up beautifully. The laces are intact, and the shape stayed solid.
Because they already look worn, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
